How Eastern’s Systems Recover Heat from Furnace Stoves
In a blast furnace stove system, the hot blast stove absorbs heat during the combustion phase and releases it to the incoming cold blast during the blasting phase. This cycle runs continuously and each phase generates recoverable thermal energy that most plants leave untapped.
Eastern’s heat exchangers intercept hot gases during both phases. They capture heat from the outgoing combustion gases and use it to preheat the incoming cold blast and BFG supply. As a result, dome temperatures rise, the furnace hearth receives a higher and more stable hot blast temperature, and fuel consumption across the stove circuit drops significantly.
